Should I add milk to my puppy’s rice?
Many friends feed puppies, fearing that their puppies are insufficient in nutrition. Like to feed it a little milk or add milk to dog food. In fact, this approach is quite wrong.
Many healthy puppies will experience diarrhea and vomiting after eating and drinking milk, and in severe cases, it may even cause the puppies to die from dehydration.
This is because the ingredients of dog milk and milk are completely different. Dog milk contains high protein, high fat and low lactose, while milk contains low protein, low fat and high lactose. The two ingredients are just the opposite. The stomach and intestines of puppies cannot absorb and digest milk.
In fact, puppies after weaning have proper feeding and do not need to be supplemented with milk powder.
If you must supplement your puppies with milk, it is best to use special dog milk powder. If you really can't buy it, you can mix a small amount of baby milk powder in rice paste for the puppies to eat. Start with a small amount, and then the amount of milk powder will be further increased after the puppies gradually adapt.
