According to British media talksport, Nottingham Forest owner Evan Galos Malinakis hopes Manchester City can make a competitive offer and sign the team's star player Morgan Gibbs White, although Tottenham is interested in it at present.

Gibbs White informed Malinakis at the end of last season that he would only leave Nottingham Forest because of a specific level of club.

Forest owner believes that Tottenham does not meet this level, so he is angry that Gibbs White may transfer to Tottenham.

Stimulus has activated Gibbs White's £60m termination clause, but Nottingham Forest filed a legal complaint over the raid transfer, meaning the deal is currently out.

There is still a view that Spurs may still restart the transfer depending on the result of the legal challenge, but Gibbs White has since represented Nottingham Forest in the preseason.

Nottingham Forest wants Manchester City to join the competition, which is related to their interest in Manchester City midfielder McCarthy.

However, Manchester City has signed three midfielders this summer, and reports have said they have decided to sign Cherki from Lyon for £34m as a cheaper alternative to Gibbs White.

After De Bruyne's transfer to Napoli, Guardiola also introduced midfielders Reindez (46.3 million pounds) and Nipan (12.5 million pounds).
