British media: Tottenham midfielder Saar will donate the national team subsidy in September to help Senegal s military orphans
London Football Network reported that Tottenham midfielder Saar donated his subsidy for the international match day this month to help orphans in his motherland Senegal.
The 22-year-old decided to donate the prize money for two matches representing Senegal in September to the Office of Children of the State (ONPN), a public agency dedicated to supporting military orphans and other families of the line of death who sacrificed their lives for the country.
Sal's prize money against Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo this month will be a total of 5 million French francs (about 6,600 pounds) and donated to children from the motherland.
Sar said: "These children need our support because they have lost their parents' company. I have made a commitment to them and will do my best to ensure that they have no worries about food and clothing. This is just a small move, and there will be more actions through my foundation in the future. I hope this will bring comfort to some children for the time being."
Sar Foundation is committed to helping Senegalese youth and promoting the development of the next generation of education, sports and medical care. This year, it has established a partnership with the National Children's Office. Through the foundation, Saar visited orphanages, discussed key social education development issues with government officials, and ensured that food packs were distributed to impoverished families in their childhood communities.
On the court, Saar is about to usher in an important season of Tottenham's career under the new coach Thomas Frank. The Danish coach was impressed by Saar in the preseason and became his loyal fan.
was interviewed by London Football Network this summer. When asked which Tottenham player surprised him in training, Frank said: "Sal is a prominent representative. I don't want to describe it as exceeding expectations, but he is indeed amazing. He performed very well. After spending a wonderful season two years ago, he became a little dull last year. His ball-handling and athletic ability are really outstanding."
Sal started all four official games coached by Frank. The Senegal international seems to have shown top professional qualities on and off the court.
