According to the Times, Liverpool is close to appointing former Dutch international Van Bronkhorst as assistant coach, who will replace Heatinga to Slot's new coaching team.

50-year-old Van Bronkhorst recently served as head coach for Glasgow Rangers and Besiktas. He led the Rangers to the UEFA Cup final in 2022, but eventually lost to Frankfurt. In October of the same year, he led the Rangers to a 1-7 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League.

Van Bronkhorst began his coaching career with Feyenoord, Slot's former club, and won the Eredivisie championship in 2017. Slott also replicated this success in 2023. Van Bronkhorst will form a new coaching team with Shipk Helshov and Aaron Briggs to help Liverpool defend their title next season.

Liverpool's success is largely due to Slott and his team's meticulous guidance, who not only improve the performance of stars such as Salah and Van Dijk, but also help the growth of players such as Heraffenberg.

Hetinga once mentored Herafenbergh as a "coach mentor", who also admitted that it would be helpful to his career, and Slot's way of working means Van Bronkhorst will bear similar responsibilities.

In addition to his extensive coaching experience, Van Bronkhorst also has a brilliant career, playing for clubs such as Feyenoord, Barcelona and Arsenal. As a left back, he played for the Dutch national team in the 2010 World Cup final, his 106th and last time for the national team, and the Dutch team eventually lost 0-1 to Spain.

Meanwhile, Liverpool is continuing to negotiate with Leverkusen on a transfer for Wilz, while also discussing Kolkerz's deal with Bournemouth. Heatinga hopes to loan Ajax against goalkeeper Jaros, who made his first appearance in the league in the league last season.
