The Times: Forest is about to appoint Dyche as new coach, but has not contacted first choice Marco Silva
"The Times" reported that Dyche is about to be appointed as the new coach of Nottingham Forest, and the club's first choice Marco Silva is unlikely to leave Fulham in the middle of this season.
It is understood that Forest have been trying to persuade Silva, who is in the final year of his contract, to leave Fulham, but they have not yet received any sign that he is willing to leave at this stage of the season. Dyche is now the leading contender for the job, although he is believed to be unwilling to accept a short-term deal.
Marco Silva's contract with Fulham has a release clause worth approximately 12 million pounds, and any transfer needs to meet this clause.
Forest has paid termination compensation to both Postkoglu and Nuno this season. Postkoglu was fired last Saturday after only 39 days in charge, making him the shortest official head coach in Premier League history, while Nuno was sacked in September.
It is understood that Forest has not yet made formal contact with Fulham regarding Marco Silva. While Silva is their first choice, they have also contacted former Everton and Burnley boss Dyche, as well as former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.
Forest boss Marinakis has long admired Silva, who led Olympiacos to win the league title in 2016, and Olympiacos is also Marinakis' team.
