Micron poaches engineers from Samsung and SK Hynix to help Taichung factory

Micron, a major American memory manufacturer, has recently been actively recruiting talents. It is actively recruiting senior Korean semiconductor engineers and offering a maximum annual salary of 200 million won (approximately US$140,000). It hopes to attract experts from Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix to cross the sea to help the Taichung factory and accelerate the expansion of DRAM production capacity.

Korean media "BusinessKorea" reported that Micron has recently released a number of job vacancies on platforms such as the job search social website LinkedIn, covering HBM manufacturing, packaging and testing and other positions. The work location is located in Micron's Taichung factory. The factory uses Micron's most advanced 1-gamma process to mass-produce next-generation HBM4 and is Micron's largest DRAM production base.

Reports pointed out that Micron is targeting senior engineers from Korean semiconductor giants such as Samsung and SK Hynix. It is actively recruiting talents through local entities and online channels. It also specially went to famous Korean schools to hold on-campus talent recruitment activities. Interviews and admissions can be done on-site. This highlights the tight schedule of Micron's Taichung plant expansion and the urgent need to supplement key technical manpower.

According to people familiar with the matter, Micron does not hesitate to offer generous benefits in order to attract top talents. The annual salary of senior positions can reach 200 million won, which shows its determination to expand into HBM and advanced process fields, and also shows the key position of Micron's Taichung plant in the global DRAM supply chain.
