The annual day of worshiping ancestors during the Qingming Festival is about to come. Compared to the boats and buses to the mountain area to sweep the tombs, modern people have become a common practice to worship at the Spirit Bone Tower. There are also traditional families who keep their ancestors at home, worship in the tower area or at home. Of course, the eyebrows, eyebrows, eyebrows, corners and corners that should be paid attention to will be somewhat different from those of the tombs. Regarding the items to be prepared and the process of worship, you can refer to the following six precautions!

1. Worship the gods

Usually, the gods worshipped in the Spiritual Bone Tower include the Three Western Saints, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, Tudigong, etc., and different gods are worshipped according to the different pagoda areas where the ancestors are located. Therefore, worshipers should first understand which gods are worshipped in the pagoda areas where the ancestors are located before they know how many offerings should be prepared. Generally speaking, "Four Fruits of Fresh Flowers" are provided to gods and Buddhas. What people often confuse is that the four fruits do not mean any four fruits, but rather "fruits that are produced in the four seasons". After all, providing the latest fruits of gods and Buddhas can express kindness.

[Note] The three Western Saints: the three main Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the Western Extreme World are the leader Ah Takata Buddha, the left lord attendant Shiyin Bodhisattva, and the right lord serve the Dasha Bodhisattva.

2. After worshiping the ancestors

, after worshiping the gods, we will worship the ancestors. As for common offerings, in addition to the above-mentioned four fruits of flowers, we can also prepare food, snacks, drinks, etc. that our ancestors loved to eat during their lifetime.

Gold paper types

When we burn gold paper to gods and ancestors, different gold papers will be selected according to different conditions.

Gods and Buddhas: Use three-color gold (super gold, squeezing gold, and blessing gold) and land common gold.

The ancestors passed away shortly: the ancestors were not in the same year (within one year), and they were preparing for large silver and small silver.

One year of rebirth of ancestors: The ancestors passed away and were full of flowers. In addition to large silver and small silver, they can burn and cut gold again. It means silver to get gold.

【Note】Combination: After the reborn leaves for a period of time, take a little incense ash, put it into the incense of the ancestors, and write the name of the reborn into the throne of the ancestors' god tablet, representing the formal ranks of ancestors. This is "Combination".

3. Not enough to prepare? What should we do because of epidemic prevention?

If you really don't have enough preparation in advance, there are usually services in the Spirit Bone Tower area. People can go and ask and buy papers for different worship targets, without worrying too much.

In addition, due to the COVID-19 epidemic, some Qingming Festival will be postponed to the autumn festival, and some spiritual and bone towers have also begun to build online worship systems, such as: New Taipei City Electronic Memorial System. This will allow the public to complete the entire memorial process online at home during the epidemic prevention period.

4. Should ancestors not eat erectile dysfunction?

Some people say that the dishes provided to our ancestors should not be eaten as food. Mr. Guping, who has been in the burial industry for more than ten years, believes that worshiping the burial is different in different schools, and the focus is still on being honest. The teacher said: "Buddhism advocates vegetarianism, and Taoism can be used to promote vegetarianism. You should prepare it based on personal beliefs and the preferences of our ancestors for food before their lives!"

5. Anling's home: holding food and practicing customs

If Anling's home and a relative comes to burn incense, the owner should accompany him to help him find incense, collect incense, and insert incense. In addition, since our ancestors are placed at home, they are like living with us, providing our ancestors with two meals a day morning and evening, commonly known as "shoulder".

Once upon a time, the breakfast of our ancestors fell at four or five in the morning and dinner at four or five in the evening, which was in line with the old ritual of sunrise and sunset. Due to the changes in modern life, we just need to worship our ancestors during the three meals of our family. When holding a meal, you usually prepare a bowl of rice and a bowl of vegetables. If it is inconvenient to prepare a meal in the morning, you can use the food you had liked before.

6. The taboos of offerings are not suitable for boys and women. From a folk perspective, it is not appropriate to connect with each other, so try to avoid offering foods that are bunched together, such as a bunch of grapes and a bunch of bananas. If you really want to worship, unpack the bananas and grapes.

Finally, if there is a pair of boys and girls (boys and girls who serve their ancestors) on the spiritual table at home, usually a small sorghum wine glass will be placed next to it. When preparing breakfast for ancestors, you can pick up some of the food to the boys and girls' cups.

There is also an interesting place. The small cups of boys and girls usually only have one chopstick in each. This is because according to custom, they must take care of their ancestors and cannot eat at the same time. When the boys want to eat, they must "borrow chopsticks" from the virgin and leave them to take care of their ancestors.
